VISITING PROFESSOR
The Visiting Professor Program is an academic initiative designed to strengthen educational quality through collaboration with distinguished scholars, researchers, and experts from reputable national and international institutions. This program serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, academic discussion, and the sharing of best practices in education, research, and healthcare.
One of the primary objectives of the Visiting Professor Program is to support the continuous improvement and internationalization of the curriculum. Through insights and recommendations provided by visiting experts, the Faculty of Medicine is able to evaluate, update, and align its curriculum with current developments in medical science, healthcare practice, technological innovation, and global educational standards.
In addition, the program contributes to the enhancement of teaching and learning processes, research collaboration, academic networking, and faculty development. By engaging with internationally recognized academics, students and faculty members gain broader perspectives and valuable experiences that enrich the academic environment.
The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang, remains committed to fostering academic excellence and producing highly competent graduates through continuous curriculum development and strategic international collaboration. Integrated Lecture Training in Problem-Based Learning and Curriculum Evaluation
As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of medical education and ensuring its relevance to current developments in healthcare and higher education, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang, organized the Integrated Lecture Training in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Curriculum Evaluation from Thursday to Saturday, April 16–18, 2026.
The training featured distinguished speakers in the field of medical education, Prof. dr. Ardi Findyartini, Ph.D. and drg. Nadia Greviana, M.Pd.Ked. The program aimed to strengthen faculty members’ competencies in designing and implementing integrated learning through the Problem-Based Learning approach, while also enhancing their understanding of curriculum evaluation and development aligned with expected learning outcomes.
Through this training, participants gained valuable insights into effective teaching strategies, interdisciplinary curriculum integration, and systematic curriculum evaluation processes to ensure compliance with national and international standards of medical education.
This activity represents a strategic initiative by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang, to continuously improve educational quality, support sustainable curriculum development, and produce competent, professional physicians capable of addressing future healthcare challenges.
Workshop on Developing Problem-Based Learning Scenarios as a Follow-Up to Curriculum Revision at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang
As part of its commitment to continuously improving the quality of medical education, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang, organized a Visiting Professor Program entitled “Workshop on Developing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Scenarios as a Follow-Up to Curriculum Revision” on June 28–29, 2024.
The workshop featured Prof. dr. Ardi Findyartini, Ph.D., a distinguished expert in medical education, who shared her expertise and experience in designing effective and integrated Problem-Based Learning scenarios to support competency-based medical education.
The program aimed to enhance faculty members’ capacity in developing relevant, contextual, and outcome-oriented PBL scenarios aligned with the revised curriculum. Through interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and expert guidance, participants gained valuable insights into student-centered learning strategies and the integration of basic and clinical sciences within the medical curriculum.
This Visiting Professor activity served as an important step in strengthening the implementation of the revised curriculum and promoting innovative teaching and learning approaches. It also reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high academic standards, fostering educational excellence, and preparing future physicians who are competent, professional, and capable of addressing healthcare challenges at both national and international levels.
Training on the Role of New Tutors, PBL Tutor Refresher Program, and Strategies for Providing Feedback to Students in Various Learning Methods at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang
As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of medical education and strengthening faculty competencies, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang conducted a Training on the Role of New Tutors, PBL Tutor Refresher Program, and Strategies for Providing Feedback to Students in Various Learning Methods on Friday–Saturday, December 6–7, 2024.
The training featured distinguished speakers in the field of medical education, Prof. dr. Ardi Findyartini, Ph.D. and drg. Nadia Greviana, M.Pd.Ked., who shared their expertise and best practices in facilitating student-centered learning and effective feedback delivery within medical education.
The program was designed to equip newly appointed tutors with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to facilitate Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions effectively, while also providing a refresher course for experienced tutors to enhance their facilitation techniques. In addition, participants explored evidence-based strategies for delivering constructive feedback to students across various learning methods, fostering continuous improvement in student performance and professional development.
Through interactive discussions, case-based exercises, and practical workshops, participants gained valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of tutors, effective facilitation skills, and approaches to creating meaningful learning experiences. The training also emphasized the importance of timely, specific, and learner-centered feedback as a key component of successful medical education.
This activity reflects the Faculty of Medicine’s dedication to maintaining high educational standards, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring the successful implementation of innovative and student-centered educational approaches in preparing future healthcare professionals.
Curriculum Review Workshop at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang
In an effort to ensure the continuous improvement and relevance of its medical education program, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang conducted a Curriculum Review Workshop on January 10–11, 2023.
The workshop was led by esteemed experts in medical education, Prof. dr. Ardi Findyartini, Ph.D. and drg. Nadia Greviana, M.Pd.Ked., who provided valuable insights and guidance on curriculum development, evaluation, and alignment with current educational standards and healthcare needs.
The primary objective of the workshop was to review and evaluate the existing curriculum to ensure its alignment with competency-based medical education principles, national standards, and the evolving demands of healthcare services. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding curriculum structure, learning outcomes, teaching and assessment methods, as well as strategies for enhancing the integration of basic, clinical, and professional competencies.
Through collaborative sessions and expert consultation, faculty members were encouraged to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for curriculum enhancement. The workshop also highlighted the importance of adopting innovative educational approaches that support student-centered learning and promote the development of competent, ethical, and professional physicians.
This activity marked an important milestone in the Faculty’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance, reinforcing its efforts to provide a dynamic and responsive medical curriculum that prepares graduates to meet future challenges in healthcare and medical practice.
